066 - Replacing My Phone

I've been thinking a lot about something I call intentional computing: using devices that do one thing well instead of one device that constantly fights for your attention.

My phone is already locked down. Permanent Do Not Disturb, notifications only from friends and colleagues, everything else off. It's still distracting. I pick it up to check off a habit, and five minutes later I'm somewhere else entirely.

So I've been slowly moving things off it. Habit tracking, voice memos, and eventually photos, onto devices that can't interrupt me. The Playdate turned out to be a surprisingly good place to start.
